![]()
There is always a person among our colleagues, friends, or family circle who is always on time in terms of keeping his cool while finishing a task perfectly that too on time.
Not everyone has this type of superpower. Upon close observation and studying one of the most productive persons, I have jotted down a few points.
Ways to be The Most Productive:
1. Categorize your tasks according to their importance:
The most important task shall be done at the beginning of the day when we are fresh and the most productive.
2. Make a to-do list:
To be the most productive, before going to bed or soon after you have your breakfast, take out your diary and pencil and draft a to-do list for the day prioritizing all the way.

Every time you are done with a task place a tick mark against it. It will give you a kick and a sense of excitement and relief at the very same time.
3. Practice the Pomodoro Technique:
- The Pomodoro Technique is a time management technique designed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s.
- In this technique, the tasks are divided into “25 minutes” long slots at a time using a timer.
- Every time a Pomodoro is achieved make a tick mark on a piece of paper and continue with task 2.
- From tasks 1-4 take a break of 3-5 minutes.
- After the completion of 5th Pomodoro, take a longer break spanning 15-20 minutes and then start doing it again the same way from the very beginning.
- The Pomodoro technique has proved to be very successful and is being used worldwide by people from all walks of life.
Pomodoro is an Italian word for Tomato and this technique was named so after the tomato-shaped kitchen clock used by Francesco back in his university.
4. Practice the 80/20 rule:
The 80/20 rule of time management is that on every 20 percent of effort, 80 percent of the results are achieved. It is also known as “Paretto Principle” as it was put forward by an Italian Economist named Vilfredo Paretto.
Focus on the most important 20% of your work and then figure out cutting down the rest 80% of the tasks to be the most productive.
5. Reward yourself:
We all love gifts and treats. After getting through a maximum productive day, the sense of accomplishment will be washed all over you.
Put a cherry on top by rewarding yourself. It could be watching your favorite season or movie, dancing to your favorite song, going to that new pizza place, or just having a quick evening stroll along the beach.

This will not just refresh you but send good signals to your brain making you more productive for the next day.
6. Get rid of distractions:
You are all ready to finish a task but suddenly your phone rings it is your best friend telling you of the new mall which has opened around the corner and you start talking to him losing the track of time.
After the call, you are ready to hit the mall with a friend of yours totally forgetting about the task unattended. So, the first and foremost thing to be the most productive is to get rid of all kinds of distractions which can come your way. Put that mobile phone on silent!!
7. Stop multitasking:
Take one step a time, one task a time. Multitaskers lose their productivity and IQ. It is detrimental to the brain and impairs cognitive ability. A thorough study on the brains of multitaskers showed less brain density in the region that deals in emotional control and empathy.
Bottom line:
If the following key points would be practiced by you on an everyday basis they will make your second nature and people will be in awe of your productivity as you will be one of the most productive people around.
